Getting Started

Healthcare professional (HCP) events require special compliance tracking for regulatory purposes. MyEventsAI's HCP event wizard guides you through a 9-step process to ensure all requirements are met.

Accessing the HCP Wizard

1. From your dashboard, click Create Event
2. Select HCP Event (9-step wizard)
3. The wizard will open with compliance pre-checks and required fields highlighted

Step 1: Selecting Event Type

Choose from 12 HCP-specific event categories:

• Advisory Board - Expert panel discussions and strategic guidance
• Speaker Program - Educational presentations by healthcare experts
• Investigator Meeting - Clinical trial coordination meetings
• CME Conference - Accredited continuing medical education event

Step 2: Configuring CME/CE Credits

If your event offers continuing education credits, configure accreditation details:

Configure regulatory compliance requirements for your event:

NPI Verification

• Require NPI: All registrants must provide a valid National Provider Identifier
• Verify NPI: System validates NPIs against NPPES database (when enabled)
• Allow non-HCP: Permit staff, coordinators, or other non-providers to register

Transfer of Value (TOV) Tracking

• Enable TOV tracking: Required for Sunshine Act compliance
• Meal value: Set expected per-person meal cost (tracked for reporting)
• Compensation type: Select honorarium, speaking fee, consulting, or other
• Commercial support: Specify any pharmaceutical company sponsorship

State-Specific Requirements

Some states have additional reporting requirements beyond federal Sunshine Act:

• Vermont: Requires additional meal value disclosure
• Massachusetts: Annual aggregate reporting to state AG
• Minnesota: State-specific disclosure thresholds

Step 4: Setting Up Attestations

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

NPI Verification Failing

• Check for typos in the 10-digit NPI number
• Verify the NPI is active in NPPES database
• Some NPIs may be deactivated or retired – ask attendee to provide updated NPI

Attestation Not Captured

• Ensure attendee completed full signature flow (not just typed name)
• Check browser console for JavaScript errors
• Verify stable internet connection during signing

CME Credits Not Appearing

• Confirm "Issue CME credits" is enabled in event settings
• Verify attendee completed required check-in/check-out
• Check if minimum attendance threshold was met (e.g., 80% of session time)
